BSP Nepal and Urja Bio Systems Private Limited Initiate Collaboration to Advance Biogas Technology in Nepal

A significant milestone in Nepal’s sustainable energy journey was marked as BSP Nepal and Urja Bio Systems Private Limited convened an essential discussion meeting aimed at drafting a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The meeting was held on January 29, 2024 for the collaborative effort to enhance the development, promotion, and implementation of biogas technology across Nepal’s landscape.

The discussion meeting, facilitated by Prakash Lamichhane, Executive Director of BSP Nepal, brought together experts from both organizations to brainstorm and define the framework for their partnership. Open dialogue and active participation characterized the session, with representatives sharing their insights and perspectives on the potential of biogas technology to address Nepal’s energy challenges. An overview of the draft Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was presented, delineating the collaborative framework between BSP Nepal and Urja Bio Systems. The document underscored key areas of cooperation such as technology transfer, installation, modification, and commercialization of biogas plants across Nepal. The meeting was also dedicated to defining the roles and responsibilities of both parties, covering aspects such as site identification, advocacy initiatives, technological reviews, and market development activities.

 
Satish Bharad, Business Development Manager of Urja Bio Systems, provided a verbal assurance regarding the company’s commitment to signing the MOU document post-approval from their company board meeting, garnering appreciation and consensus from BSP Nepal’s representatives.
